October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, an issue that is very important to all of us in real estate. But we just talked to you about wire fraud last month, so the Placer Title Company wanted to mention another celebration October is known for: Halloween. And because it’s almost time for trick-or-treating, we thought we’d talk to you a bit about social media, which can play in important role in making sure you are finishing the year strong. The trick is to prepare for the shift by being even more intentional with your marketing efforts. This is where the treat comes in. Try out these three ideas to boost your business on social media this fall.

LINKEDIN
As the largest social media platform for professionals, LinkedIn offers endless networking potential, along with one of the most captive audiences.

What you need to know: Video on LinkedIn has one of the best engagement rates around. LinkedIn video is 5x more likely than other types of content to start a conversation among members.
Idea: Start a fall or Halloween desk decorating competition at the office and share a LinkedIn video of the top contenders. Employees will want to share it, and it gives outsiders an inside look at your fun office culture.

INSTAGRAM
Instagram and the current market have one major thing in common – lots of millennials. The largest generation of home buyers is most likely to be found on Instagram! And Instagram Stories are a relatively new feature where users can post Stories and videos that vanish in 24 hours.

What you need to know: As one of the fast-growing social tools, 500 million people use Stories every day and about a third of these Stories are created by businesses.
Idea: Host an Instagram Story takeover. Ask someone in the office to showcase what a day in their life looks like. Their content could include anything from sharing open houses they’re holding to showcasing neighborhoods that have amazing Halloween decorations. The possibilities are endless.

FACEBOOK
Facebook may not be as cool as it once was to some, but it’s still the most popular social media site in the world, with 2.23 billion people logging into Facebook every month.  Also known as “going live,” Facebook Live offers businesses the opportunity to connect with customers in real time with very little equipment (you just need your phone). The videos not only boost engagement, but they also help your content get boosted

What you need to know: Facebook Live videos typically receive six times more interactions than regular videos, making them rank higher in the newsfeed.
Idea: Buyers and sellers are always looking for the latest tips on real estate. Start a weekly Friday Real Estate Report on Facebook Live. Suggested first topics: “Why now is a good time to buy a home” and “Should you decorate your home for Halloween if you’re trying to sell it?”
